10-MILE RACE. Now in its 38th year, the race grows annually, with over 2200 entries in the 1996 race. The race draws entries from more than 20 states, and is one of New England's largest summer races.

3M RACE. Over 1000 runners entered last year's race. In prior years the race has been organized as a fun run. You may enter as a corporate team, but it is not required. A team must have at least three runners from the same company. Each runner must put the team name on the entry form.

*NOTE: Running teams in 10-Mile Race must be USATF-NE teams.

10-MILE COURSE. The 10-mile race is on a flat and fast course on scenic Newburyport city streets starting at the high school and reaching the harbor edge at the two-mile point. From the two-mile to the five-mile point the race continues through the historic downtown area, and on to Maudslay State Park at the six and seven-mile points. The race finishes on the 50 yard-line of the high school football field.

THE 3M COURSE. The race starts next to the high school, proceeds down High Street, left on Federal Street, left on Water Street, left on Broad Street, and on to the finish fine at the 50-yard-line of the high school stadium.

AWARDS (10 MILE RACE). $6,200 in prize money will be awarded. Men: $500-300-150-75-50 (Team: $300-150-50); 40+: $300-200-75 (Team: $200-100); 50+: $200-100-50-25 (Team: 150-75); Women: Same as men in all categories.

USATF-NE GRAND PRIX Once again the 10-Mile race will be part of the 1997 Grand Prix Race Series. This series is open to all USATF New England member clubs and individuals who are members.
