5-Kilometer and Kiddie K

WHERE: The race starts and finishes from the Brewery Exchange located at 201 Cabot Street in Historic Lowell, Massachusetts.

TIME: Kiddie K starts at 12:15 P.M. The 5-Kilometer race begins at 1:00 P.M.

HOW MUCH? Pre-entry $10, post-entry $12.00 for the 5-Kilometer Race. The Kiddie K is FREE and open to all children under the age of 13 (all children must register). Make 5-Kilometer entry fee checks payable to Brewery Exchange Classic. All entry fees are nonrefundable.

T-SHIRTS: Awesome multicolored t-shirts are GUARANTEED to the first 1000 entries in the 5-Kilometer Race.


ENTRY FORM



COMMEMORATIVE: Each Entrant will receive either a commemorative bottle of Mill City Beer of Mill City Root Beer.

AWARDS: Limited edition awards designed to commemorate the running of this year's event will be awarded to the top 5 finishers overall and the top 5 finishers in each of the age categories: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over.

REGISTRATION: Walk in registration will be accepted at the Brewery Exchange or mail the completed entry form with entry fee to: Brewery Exchange Classic, 201 Cabot St., Lowell, MA 01854. Additional application are available at the Brewery Exchange.

AMENITIES: Mile and half-mile marker splits, digital clock at each mile, three water stations, computerized race results, and FREE PARKING.

POST RACE: Join us at the Brewery Exchange for our post race party. Festivities include a huge spread of refreshments, live music, drawings for fabulous Brewery Exchange merchandise and, of course, Mill City Products. Please stay around after the race for all the fun.

PACKET PICKUP: Race number, t-shirt and race information can be picked-up at the Brewery Exchange on August 31, 1996 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Packet pickup is also available on race day beginning at 10:00 A.M.

DIRECTIONS: The Brewery Exchange is about 30 minutes from Boston and 15 minutes from Southern N.H. From Rte. 495 take the Lowell Connector to the Thorndike Street Exit (Exit 5N). Go straight at the end of the exit to your fifth set of traffic lights, there should be a Merit Gas Station on your immediate left. Go left here onto Merrimack Street. Follow Merrimack to the second set of traffic lights where you will take a right onto Cabot Street. Continue straight on Cabot Street until you see the Brewery Exchange on your immediate left. All turns will be clearly marked with signs directing you to the race.

COURSE: Accurately measured, very flat course. The first section of the race is run on the banks of the scenic Merrimack River while the second half runs through the Lowell National Historic Park.

RESTRICTIONS: For safety purposes, baby joggers/strollers, roller skates, in-line skates, bikes, skateboards and dogs will be prohibited on the race course.

VOLUNTEERS: If your family and/or friends want to help us and earn a t-shirt and enjoy the post race party, drop us a note or call 508-937-0707. We will send you a volunteer form. You must fill-out the form to get a t-shirt.

BENEFICIARY: Proceeds from this race will benefit a local youth charity.

PRE–RACE CLINIC & PASTA DINNER: Pre-race race registration and pasta dinner will be held at the Brewery Exchange on Saturday, August 31, 1996. The dinner will be $5 for each entrants and $5 for each guest. The pasta dinner begins at 4:00 P.M Race packets can be picked-up from 4:00 to 7:00. There will be something for everyone at the Mill City Classic Sports Clinic and Pasta Feed. Please join us for a great race weekend and a great time!
