Results courtesy of the Scorpion Relay.
The Scorpion Relay was held on November 13, 1999, starting at the
Nevada/Arizona Border on top of Davis Dam, Laughlin, NV. Two start times of
3:00AM and 5:00AM were in affect. This is a 90 mile relay consisting of 12
runners on a team with 13 Relay Legs. On the average, each runner runs 7
miles. The 13 Leg (5.4 miles) requires one of the (original) runners to run
once again (to the Finish Line). The Finish Line is 'Pool Side' at the
Sunset Station Hotel & Casino in Henderson, NV.
This is a 'New' race and attracted only 7 teams this year. All the teams
were composed of Law Enforcement Officers. The Scorpion Relay is designed
after our most successful 'Challenge Cup/Baker to Vegas Relay' which has been
held each April for the past 16 years. That race is all Law Enforcement and
has over 200 Teams with 20 runners on a team covering 120 miles.
