The 3rd Annual Moontide Festival Rotary 5K Race was run on Saturday morning June 26th under clear skies and hot weather. The 5K course was newly certified by the USA Track and Field Road Running Technical Council. New course records were established by Mathew Rodrique (16:39) and Annie Howley (20:57). They each received $25 gifts for their accomplishments.

The 1 Mile Fun Run was won by Devin Ferreira(6.46). Mickey Picard, Luke Ferreira and Michael Brooks placed 2-3-4.

The overall winners in the men's category were Mathew Rodrique 1st, Josh Dyer 2nd and Randy Easter 3rd. Winners in the women's category were Annie Howley 1st, Rachel Yates 2nd and Hillary Easter 3rd.

The overall placers and 1st and 2nd placers by age group each received plaques.

The annual personal wellness event and race program was co-sponsored by Mead Corporation and Rumford Community Hospital. Additional support was provided by Chisholm Ski Club, Carrabassett Water, Shop& Save, Legere's Hardware, E&E Awards Sportshoe Center and Runner's World. Proceeds from the project will be used by the Rumford Rotary Club to support local charities.
