A QD Christmas StoryTwas a week before Christmas and all through
the town
All the people were shopping and rushing around
As they
hustled and bustled about in their cars
The QD 5 runners just dreamed
of PRs
Courtney Bird shouted "GO" and started the run
All that
was left was five miles of pure fun
The runners hit Walker and took a
sharp right
And then they galloped off into the night
They ran
down Surf Drive with the wind in their face
Causing many to slow and
back off the pace
Half way down Elm came a treacherous hill
Which
the runners sprinted up with outstanding skill
First in was
Gartner, then Johnson, and a fellow named Tad
They all finished strong
with times that weren't bad
Next came Fobert, then McPherson, and a guy
from Mashpee
After they finished they all shouted with glee
Mary
Olenick was the first woman across the line
With an outstanding time of
thirty six twenty nine
As always, Mecray and Baker finished together
Then quickly dashed off to escape the cold weather
But all were
behind the true winner of the race
He was a heavy set fellow with a
fat pudgy face
He wore a very peculiar red and white suit
And
bounded about in two shiny black boots
After he finished he jumped
into a sleigh
He bellowed "HO HO" and then drove away
We still do
not know who garnered the win
For this mysterious runner failed to
sign in
