If you are ever asked whether cross country is a good spectator sport,
just send your curious friend to Derryfield Park for the Manchester Invitational. Over 2200
runners were registered for the event, yet there were still more spectators than runners.
The girls large school race featured three nationally ranked teams (Harrier magazine)
with Yucaipa (California) winning the showdown with host Manchester (NH) Central. Individually, Erica Palmer
of Monadnock (NH) took ten seconds off the course record for the win. The small school race saw
Monique Berry take the gold, as she led RHAM (Connecticut) to the team title.Girls Large School A-Race|Girls Small School A-Race
