The Stoughton JCC 5k, 10k turned into a national media event. Oh yes ABC was there, and
Peter Wallan from the Hockomock Swamp Rat. ABC was filming our local hero and celebrity
Louise Rossetti. Tune in on Monday May 19, 1997 at 6:30 pm to Peter Jennings and the ABC
nightly news and you can catch Louise and the rest of us.
The 5K was won by former Triathlon Star Andy Rogovin in a crisp time of 16:02 and the
womens 5k winner was Judy Copley in 18:28. In the 10k Bob Ruel of Whitman cruised in at
33:12 and Karen Boen won in 39:16. A picture perfect day and great hospitality by the
Stoughton JCC made this a fun day for all.
What's next for Louise ? First the cover of the rat, then New England Runner, Runner's world in
the July issue and now the nightly news with Peter Jennings. Rumor has it that David Letterman
is having her for a guest and the President is coming to New England to run with her in the Hoyt
Race on Thursday. Running in New England is never boring.
