Richard Bolt of Lunenburg broke away from the field a quarter-mile into the race to record his second easy area win in the last six days. Bolt topped a field of 333 in winning the Charity Five held in Fitchburg on June 1st.

In the women's competition, Laura Baker of Dorchester, finishing 10th overall, topped Mary Lammi of Spencer. Lammi was the first female master and placed 14th overall.
