This was the fifth running of this course. The last was in 1983. Each year
has had between 12 and 15 runners. It is the first year without any female
runners. Since Suzzie Katz and Kelly Brown always run at Fresh Pond they
couldn't make it here. The temperature was about 75 and the humidity low.
Water was given out by Dick Rexford. The finish line was handled by Sue
Rexford and Al ??. Lead bike was by Ron Lees and trail bike was Mike
Perham. Liam Brady (AKA Bill Brady) was the youngest runner there. He
signed on with the NMC for the special discounts on entry fees at NMC
races. Dave Duval gave him the hard sell. "Save a dollar on the entry fee!"
Prizes offered included NMC water bottles, coffee mugs (NMC, of course) and
"name your own place" trophies. Unfortunately the great tank tops were
depleated in the Gardner race.
Besides the three churches that we run by there were three yard sales in
session also.
