The 8th running of the Marlborough Main Street Mile was a great success in spite of the wet conditions. Michael Clements from Marlborough was the first person to cross the finish line and also captured the crown as the “Fastest man in Marlborough”, taking top honors among 98 runners covering the course in a time of 4:48. Alissa Nelson from Marlborough was the first woman to cross the finish line, capturing the women’s open crown in a time of 5:09. The father-son team of Scott (4:57) and Vaughn Steeves (6:38) from Middleton, MA won the trophy for the fastest parent-child team. Marlborough High School Cross Country runners Austin Turner (5:02) and Krissy Fantasia (5:52) took the under 17 category. Marlborough High School Athletic director Jeff Rudzinky finished the race in a very respectable 7:51 while Danielle Gregoire completed the course in 10:27.
John Kirk, from Ashland, who finished second overall in a time of 4:51 was the over 40 medalist while Madelyn Steeves, from Middleton took the women’s over 40 crown in a row in a time of 5:54.
