Gamble wins School Spirit 5K

HHS Athletic Director Luis Macedo accepts the 2010 School Spirit Award Trophy

He was the second place finisher last year, but Marlborough’s Sonny Gamble would not be denied the win in the 2nd Annual School Spirit 5K Run / Walk held at the Elks Lodge on Saturday, November 27th. Gamble covered the course in 16:02, establishing a new course record. Hudson’s Christy Carrera, shattered last year’s record of 20:29, covering the course in 18:57. It was a perfect day for running and Hudson’s Vic Rimkus and Marlborough Bobby Brennan, the official starters for this year’s race got the 416 runners and walkers off to a great start. Most of the participants came decked out in their school colors. Hudson won its second Spirit Award trophy by a score of 238 to 143. A complete listing of results can be found on www.coolrunning.com.
