Mine Falls Summer Trail Race Series - Race #3

Race Story:

Race 3 of the 2009 Summer Trail Series was again a bit of a soggy mess. Athough it didn't rain during
the race, afternoon showers made for muddy trail conditions. Hopefully we'll see the sun again soon.
46 people ran Race 3 and 5 walked away with brand spanking new mesh running hats from our raffle.
These hats should prove useful in helping to keep the seemingly never ending rain out of their eyes.

The 5k winner for the men was Alex Brown who finished in 17:41 and just about a minute ahead of
second place Bill Newsham. The female 5k winner was again Lyra Clark who finished in 19:01
ahead of newcomer Callie Hartnett. In the 5m Mike Gilberti swooped in to take the win over
second place finisher Frank Pilhofer who was 2 minutes back. And, on the womens 5m side
Bridget Meehan finished in 39:23. 2 1/2 minutes ahead of second place finsher Lisa Lombardi.
Thankfully no one got lost (for very long) this week and hopefully that trend will continue.
