The moonlight might have been missing, but the snowshoers certainly weren't as 107 hale and hearty
athletes converged on tiny Madbury, New Hampshire for the 2nd Annual Kingman Farms 5k Snowshoe Race!
The race, which SOLD OUT weeks in advance, attracted all the powerhouses of New Hampshire snowshoeing,
led of course, by CMS Polar Bear Jim Johnson of Salem. Were it not for the uber-human efforts of
mountain monster Kevin Tilton at the Sidehiller earlier in the season, JJ would have swept every race
in the series.
JJ took the race out hard as always, and had gapped the field by the first turn just a quarter mile
into the race. JJ went on to beat acidotic RACING's Steve Wolfe by almost 3 minutes. Wolfe's acidotic
teammate Dan Ferrira took 3rd - but by a hair as Josh Merlis and Robert Jackman were hot on his heels.
Dungeon Rock racing's Patrick Smith outgunned acidotic's Scott Graham for the Master's win.
Home team acidotic's success was even stronger as Leslie Dillon, Liz Hall, and Amber Cullen went 1-2-3.
Laural Valley stomped home in 4th place to take the Master's title.
Riding the strength of 3 runners in the top 6 --- all in front of rival Dungeon Rock's top runners,
acidotic RACING took the team title by a scant 10 points, with the visiting Albany Running Exchange
taking the bronze. Dungeon Rock took home the case of Redhook Ale for fielding the largest team.
