Tonight we donned our throwback jerseys, fired up the time machine, and were whisked back to an era when mobile telephones without buttons were hot and video games that required fat kids to get up off the couch and move their asses to play the game were all the rage. The year was 2007 and it was a cold, dark January when the An Cu Liath City Run was born. So for some reason September of 2009 seemed like a good time to celebrate this anniversary with a run around the original route.

Well folks, good news and bad news. First the bad news. Running up Harrison St still sucks as does the neighborhood at the top of the hill. The good news, there was only one misdemeanor assault and nobody took a shiv to the spleen and thus the throwback run was deemed a success. Most seemed to like the change yet none seemed to want to do it again.  Next week we'll be back to the old? new? ah, current route. 3 Miles of pretty much dead flat, except for the parts that aren't.

Due to licensing and board of health regulations that may or may not have been violated I can't mention what we ate post race. If you were there you know it was good. If you weren't don't bother asking 'cause everyone that was there pinky swore that nobody would tell.

What I can mention is this weeks birthday cake recipient. Our own "Big" Steve O'Neil turned 39, allegedly. I question the accuracy of that because if any of you have seen ole Stevie you know he has a sweet sweet baby face! Next time you see him be sure to pinch his cheekys.

See youse guys Monday!
