They
were all Magnificient
The
answer is "one-hundred and ninety-five." The question,
"How many PRs have been set on the Good Times course over the
last five weeks?"

after race festivities at Hookslde Kelly's.

Linda "The
Magnificent" McCarthy seems to have a lock on predicting PRs.
Over the last two weeks she has correctly guessed how many runners would
set course personal records and as a result has won the associated loot.
However tonight's theme was Carnac the Magnificent predict your time night
and Linda wasn't as lucky finishing fiftieth in that contest.
Lowell's
Bill Adamson proved his magnificence by predicting his finishing time
within .5 seconds. The top twenty-six runners were all within an amazing
10 seconds of their predicted time. The top five predictors were all within
two seconds! Tonight all our winners walked away with a six pack of classic
American beer and a few classic stories to boot.
The
Weather
Last year we had absolutely beautiful weather for every Good Times Series.
This year the law of averages is catching up with us as the weather has
been a bit soggy. Nevertheless we have had record turnouts each week averaged
207 runners for the first five races. I predict the next five weeks will
be sunny, warm and very well attended.
Summertime
Series
I hope to announce the Good Times Summer series next week. I'll be bringing
back favorites such as the Temptation 5K and the Bikini Run, but I'm also
adding some new events such as the coaster toss; more later.
The
Leaderboard
In the battle for the Good Times championship, Tim Burke and
Erica Paton continue to build on their overall leads. With five weeks
to go they are in a spot, however the competition is lurking and ready
to pounce should either miss a week.

Next week is our Xmas in May 5K. We'll have the Good Times Christmas Tree
decorated with some really nice presents courtesy of Marx
Running and Fitness Center in Acton, MA. And as always, we can't
guarantee you will run a fast time, but we promise you will have a good
time at the Good Times Series.
