NEW COURSE RECORD AT SYBIL!

Pushed by last year's winner Jim Sweeney - no relation - Bob Sweeney returned to Sybil and surprised many with a splendid 1minute 28 second improvement on his own (2005) record over Sybil's hills on Saturday. Bob and Jim exchanged the lead several times before Bob finally broke away at about the marathon mark. Byron Lane took third overall.

Another familiar name made a happy return among the women, as Ellen McCurtin resumed her winning ways! Setting aside doubts about her fitness, Ellen still delivered a 4: 21 clocking to easily defeat last year's winner Emmy Stocker.

Conditions for the race were excellent: generally sunny and mild with a light breeze. There were 37 finishers.
