Windy Bay

In Sandwich this morning at 10:00a, it was waning rain and VERY windy conditions at the starting shout for the "5K By The Bay" race. The race course took the runners through the Town Neck part of Sandwich. Then they traipsed across the board-walk which had wind blowing like crazy. The second half of the 3.1 miles was less adventuresome as it took the runners away from the water. Everyone finished gasping for air because of the wind. A nice course just VERY windy. An interesting point of interest is that the last 3 ladies ran together a good amount of time, of them 2 had their first race on this windy route today! Everyone went home with full bellies from the homebaked goods. And everyone went home with a shirt hand decorated shirt the Junior Girl Scout Troop 80540. The funds were raised to benefit the troop’s spring activities. Thanks goes to everyone there.
