Mother's Day Race At The Base

It was a breezy day at the Base for the race on Mother’s Day. There were a good number of families racing in the 5k: like a senior mom, a daughter and a newly wed daughter and her new husband. There were several groups of four people running/walking the race. The race took place at the Mass Military Base on the Cape. There was a Coast Guard helicopter flyer over at the start, there was a terrific band of 12 year olds called "Little Dudes" playing music, quite well. There was a bouncy house for kids to play in while folks ran. Lots of snacks. The big thing seemed to be the t-shirt decoration activity. You got a shirt for entering and then you could decorate it further as you wish. This was a fun activity that many participated in doing. ~ Race Director Kate Naples
