Firecracker Four

Swampscott, MA, July 4, 2008

Kingsbury takes 28th annual race.

Swampscott- July 4, 2008- It was a great morning for a race. Overcast skies and temperatures in the low 60's made it the perfect day for the 28th running of the Firecracker 4 Miler. Andrea Walkonen of Brookline pushed Marblehead High School's Adam Kingsbury to the limit. After finishing 3rd in 2006 and 5th last year, the 19 year old Kingsbury finally won the race in a time of 21:58, just over a minute faster than he ran in 2007. Twenty-one year old Andrea Walkonen finished as the first women and second overall in a time of 22:15. Glen Diamond was the first Swampscott finisher and 6th overall in 23:40. Swampscott High School star, Lindsay Walsh was the first Swampscott female finisher, 2nd overall female, and 10th overall finisher in a time of 25:33.
