Big crowd tonight with the January thaw bringing everyone out of hibernation. Geographically, Massachusetts was well represented with the Highland City Striders from Marlborough, Empire One Running Club of Springfield, Central Mass Striders of Worcester, and the Somerville Striders Athletic Club of Somerville all sending members out to criss cross the Canal District.

January 8th is the one year anniversary of our run and to celebrate we will be giving away a few freebie entries to the Ras na hEireann 5km Road Race which takes place in Davis Sq, Somerville every March. Celebrate your inner Irish with several thousand like minded people. Cool race, cold beer, premier race, no charge for a few of our lucky runners. Entries will be given away January 14 and all you have to do is show up and run that night. We'll think of some creative way to pick the winners.
