An Cu Liath Pub "Going Out on a Limb" Monday Night 3 Miler
Worcester, MA, December 15, 2008
It Had to Be Yew
An Cu Liath (AKA "The Greyhound") Pub
Woodn't It Be Nice?
7 Castaways had absolutely nothing on 11 intrepid
souls (& one dog) who bravely ignored such trivialities as trees crashing
through their domiciles (yeah,'tis mine) to partake in the weekly run sponsored
by your Good Friends at the Greyhound Pub. You call it bravery in the face of wanton destruction; we
prefer to think of it as "branching out".
Don't "pine" for a weekly run in Worcester (on a roll now, kids): join us each
Monday at 6:30 PM for the most hap-hap-happy time of a run since Danny-FN-Kaye
tapped dance with FN Bing Crosby (sorry, obscure movie reference; if you don't
know it, drop by & ask your bartender, Paul V Curley for clarification).
Complementary (that means free, boys and girls) food, along with the best pint
poured in the Canal District....can't beat that with a stick (or twig, limb,
bough, etc.).
BUT WAIT...there's more..read this, dee-rectly from the keyboard of Mrs. Curley:
For next Monday, 12/22 only: A $5 entry fee goes to T&G Santa Fund. You're
automatically entered into a raffle for a pair of Red Sox tickets and the
prestige of running through the canal district with the man in the Red Suit
(editors note: and what a Santa we have! Parents, bring the kids, & scar them
for life--oops, I mean make a lifelong memory). Not a runner? Donate $5 and
enjoy a lovely 1 mile walk through the canal district.
For each additional $5 donation, you get an another raffle entry - sound fair?
Raffle drawing Monday evening at 8
Hey, we know times are tough for all (except for Scotty the Holden Electrician,
who has turned a cardboard sign into one of the great cottage industries of our
time) but
please consider throwing a few dinero in for the kids. Come on down, hang with
us, & down a few--who knows, you may not want to "leaf"....
