Covered Bridge Classic 10K

Conway, MA, September 30, 2007

109 runners participated in today’s “Covered Bridge Classic” and concurrent kids’ 2K fun run, on a flawless Fall day. Michael Sullivan won the 10K in a time of 35:37, outpacing Don Pacher (second overall) and Rich Larsen (third overall and first place over 50) by nearly a minute. Kelley KcKeown placed 23rd in 45:13 to pace the women’s race, and Kelley Hudson of Conway (31st place, 47:25) won the women’s 40-49 age group, while Charles Vanasse was 15th in 43:20 to place first in the men’s 40-49 age group. Garry Krinsky (8th), Lloyd Askew (12th), Ned James (13th) and Rick Scott (14th) rounded out the top finishers in the men’s 50-59 category. Bill Russell of Amherst (41st place, 50:22) won the over 60 age bracket, while Deborah Zukowski (30th, 46:55) won the women’s over 50 age group. In the Kids’ race, Andy Habel set a new course record of a blistering 7:46 for the 1.2 mile route.
