Not sure which was faster....Tonight's top three runners or the FDR Museum skipping town. Yup another city institution has left the gate heading to greener pastures in....Chicopee?? My question is, if you build a museum and don't tell anyone it's there does it really exist??

Anyway, Mario was back tonight after last weekends impressive 6th place finish in his marathon debut at "Vermont City". Another local running standout and newly minted Worcester cop by the name of Paul Noone came by to offer the first challenge Mario has seen on our course. Pretty much a battle right through to the end where they crossed the finish line at the same time with no clear winner. We are checking the finish line cam to further determine who crossed first. Not to be outdone was Dave McKenna of Hudson who clocked in at 19:34. Unfortunately the race director screwed up on the results submitted to the Telegram and Dave's name was not included. Sorry 'bout that.

We celebrated the birthday of local running fixture Nancy Roberts tonight. No Nancy wasn't there but we couldn't let a good cake go uneaten. They say it is a no-no to comment on a woman's age but when you look as good as Nancy does how can you not wonder...By the way Nancy you missed out on a great Birthday cake but Happy Birthday anyway.

Congrats to Tracy Flynn for completing the Vermont City Marathon, her first. Well done!

Finally, don't forget the Worcester Firefighters Memorial 6Km this Sunday at Institute park. Loads of money is being raised for local charities through this annual event. It is the biggest road race in the city and not surprisingly will likely remain that way.
