An Cù Liath Irish Pub City Run

An Cù Liath Irish Pub
11 Kelley Square
Worcester, Massachusetts 01610

Hosted by the
Somerville Striders Athletic Club
Nice crowd on hand tonight, large, vibrant and you might even say lively.  The word is getting out that the only weekly race in the city is where you should be on a Monday night.  Lots of new faces along side our cast of regulars.  Local running icons Art French and Stu Thurston were on hand tonight as was some up and coming talent in Adam Parslow and Sean Duncan.  Scott Zoback, scribe for Worcester Magazine came in to check out the scene.
Quite a range in abilities every week.  Top local talent, casual runners just looking for a group to get out with and midpackers looking for a good workout.  Some of our runners just come to hang out and some run and don't even bother recording their times.  Just a good group of people to be around.  So if you have been reading the results and thinking about coming down but are nervous about getting into a new group forget about it, you will be welcomed.  This is not your high school and we do not have cliques.  Sure we have jocks, nerds, and my guess is some of the women were cheerleaders at some point, but most of us are very friendly and happy to see new folks looking to tour the up and coming Canal District.
Speaking of the Canal District, do not miss the "Fallon Community Health Plan Canal Diggers 5km"  in September.  Sure to be a hit on the Worcester racing circuit which includes the likes of "The Hardiman Hop Along pub Run" and the "Track the Trains Twenty Miler" . What?  You haven't heard of these two will!  Anyway check out the website for the Canal Diggers 5km where you can get more info and sign up online. For those of you saying "canal? what canal?" you can also get a look at the history of the canal.
