Might as well start off by wishing the best for the "SSAC contingent" that is traveling to the Emerald Isle for this weekends Dublin Marathon....word out there within a few dark holes is that the SSAC is not as serious a running club as the one on the other side of the tracks...well this writing scribe would and could debate that one all day and into the evening..of course over a cold beer but since this running scribe is on the wagon till well..I'll let you know when I roll off of it....... so that debate will have to wait cause you can't debate without a cold one in front of you!!

And don't let it be said that "The Big Fella" can't roll with the punches or adapt...aka soften up a wee bit from his hard edge:>)...cause tonight during a secret "SSAC Society" meeting..yes "The Big Fella" had his own private party...and invited who he wanted:>) inducted a new lass into the SSAC....and she hails from of all places New York, New York..yes a damn Yankees fan ta boot - Mike Manoogian just let out a "he just gave the keys to the City of Somerville running away, I trusted him"!!

Anyway, under the sponsorship of Somerville Native "Big Sammy" Voolich..Anne Panzica had the index fingah on her beer drinking hand held firmly down by Paulie Watson and then pin pricked by Big Sammy Voolich whereby she was formally inducted then received a loud round of applause from the crowd within O'Sullivan's over a round of beers and food bought by "The Big Fellah"....any gal having the guts to take a Fung Wah bus 5 hours to run one of his races deserves the best "The Big Fellah" can offer!!

 

Another Congratulations is in order for one of the race directors all-time favorites..Amy Porter who won the women's side of the X's & O's chromosome fence tonight....Amy P. can be one speedy babe when she wants to be and tonight she moved her fast twitch muscles just enough to bag first prize tonight!! When she gets back from Egypt...first beer is on the RD!!

The Somerville Striders Athletic Club meets every Thursday night at the Disabled American Veterans Club..you do not have to be a member...and it aint a given that you ever will be but come on down and run, drink a beer...and be merry!!
