Collinsville Bake-Off 11.2 Miler and 5.6 Miler
March 5, 2006

The 3rd annual Collinsville Bake-Off was held in typical late Winter weather --- windy, sunny 
and 38 degrees, as 47 runners toured the Farmington River Valley and Nepaug Reservoir area.  
While runners enjoyed the scenic beauty of the Farmington River, Nepaug Forest and the village 
of Collinsville, it was not enough to take their minds off the challenging hills.
 
The overall winner was local Canton runner Mark Green, nudging Todd Brown and Dave Ricciuti in 
a time of 1:09:06 over the 11.2 mile course.  Karen Anastasio won the women’s race in 1:31:51. 
Bill Thramann led the one-loopers (5.6 miles) in 38:25, while Kate Paddon toured one loop 
this year to lead the women in 41:53.
 
Many thanks go to the always-professional volunteer work of David Reik, Rick Buckley, Tom 
Giorgetti, Michael & William Thramann, Linda Murphy, Jennifer and Jordan Schiller, Kathy 
Schwager, and Cindy Kozak-Buckley.  The HTC also gives great thanks to Gail Case, who 
graciously welcomed us to her Collinsville Baking Company for the start/finish of the race and 
supplied the post-race goodies.  If you’re looking for some perfect anti-Atkins, carbo-heaven 
specialities and "out-of-this-world" carbo-loading breads, Gail’s place along the river in 
Collinsville is a runner’s mecca.
