Marlboro Main Street Mile

Marlborough, MA, October 2, 2005

A Great Race for the Family

by Mark Vital, Race Director

The Marlboro Main Street Mile

“A Wonderful Race to Run as a Family”

On October 2nd, 2005, over fifty runners participated in the 2nd Annual Marlboro Main Street Mile. The one-mile, down hill course provided many a personal best time on this glorious day. With temperatures around 70 degrees, almost everyone commented on their fast time. Frank Field from Newton was the overall winner in a time of 4.39. Karen Lein from Newton was the first female in a time of 6.06. Chris Bisson and Lynne Henko were the first runners from Marlboro to cross the finish line. This outstanding, unique family one mile run was sponsored by the Marlboro Recreation Department, The Highland City Striders, The Horatio Algers Fair, The Marlboro Police Department and the Marlboro high track Teams. One happy parent commented “What a great race; fast, easy course, with great music, atmosphere and awesome food! I’ll definitely be back next year!”
