Arizona Runner Follows Arrows to Win

Thirty-five runners and a half a dozen walkers toed the line at Coffee O Five this week. Justin Boreson of Tempe, Arizona set the pace as he took first by half a minute. Mr. Boreson was running the event for the first time and had to navigate the course by the old faded directional arrows in the road. Ed Sweeney and Mike Norton took second and third with Jeff List another minute behind in fourth. Penny Christo picked up where she left off last summer, with another Coffee O Five win with a time of 34 minutes and change. Nancy Correia, who was also making her first Coffee O appearance of the year, finished half a minute later to nab second place for the women. Stace Beaulieu and Wendy Stafford finished together to take the third and fourth positions. The Coffee O Five is a weekly five-mile run and 2.4 mile walk that is held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. There are no entry fees for these self timed events and all runners and walkers are welcome to participate.
