Cobb and Stafford Take Firsts at Coffee O

Thirty-eight runners and ten walkers ejoyed a fall like day at this weeks Coffee O Five. Joe Cobb lopped another minute and change off his five mile personal best en route to a first place finish. Mr. Cobb started out slow and picked up the pace for each successive mile. He finished with a time of 31:21. Jim Ward of Cambridge trotted home just two minutes later in third place, one of his best ever Coffee O Five finishes. Fast starting David Farrell held on for fifth, just behind Dirk Koopmans. Wendy Stafford returned to the winner¹s circle with a time of 36 minutes. Dana DeLorme followed four minutes later to nab second. Kris Tholke edged Lindsey Ryckman for third and Judi Keller was fifth for the women. Peter Noonan finished his first Coffee O since last summer and chalked up a top ten finish. The powerful Wood Lumber Racing Team is hiding an endless supply of runners. This week it was Ed Lanoue who made his Coffee O debut and he edged out Doug Tholke for top green team honors. The Coffee O Five is a weekly five-mile run and 2.4 mile walk that is held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. There are no entry fees for these self timed events and all runners and walkers are welcome to participate.
