Clark Repeats, Holmgryn Wins

Forty-eight runners and a handful of walkers took part in this week¹s Coffee O Five. Some of the regulars were sitting this one out to rest for Sunday¹s Paul White Road Race in North Falmouth. Matt Clark of Hyannis made it two in a row as he outdistanced the field by over three minutes, despite getting lost and losing a minute or two along the way. Don Frederickson edged Steve Faluotico by just seven seconds to nab second. Late starting and fast finishing, Tor Clark, bumped Steve Roe out of fourth with his 33:35 effort. Lynn Holmgren trotted home in just over 35 minutes to win the women¹s race. In a battle of fast fifty-year-olds, Kris Tholke edged Liz Waldman by just three seconds to take second place. In a battle of Sharons, it was Sharon Grace edging Sharon Napier by half a minute to place fourth. The Coffee O Five is a weekly five-mile run and 2.4 mile walk that is held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. There are no entry fees for these self-timed events and all runners and walkers are welcome to participate. Cold, refreshing water is generously provided by Coffee Obsession of Queens Byway and soon to be Woods Hole.
