80 Plus Coffee O Fivers...Most in Three Years

It was the largest Coffee O Five field in over three year. Seventy-five runners and half a dozen walkers gathered in Town Hall Square for the 5:30 start. Young Matt Clark dropped two old guys from West Falmouth at the half way mark and streaked home with an easy win and the fastest Coffee O time of the year. Mike Norton edged Steve Roe for fourth. Dan Ruane took sixth by just a second over Don Fredrickson. The women¹s race was another tight one. Lindsay Ruthven held off a late surge by Lynn Holmgren to nab the win by just 14 seconds. Rachel Horwitz edged Mary Ward Regnier for third by just one second. Pauline Lim grabbed fifth in just under 38 minutes, as she was the first of four women who crossed the line within 20 seconds of one another. The Green Team of Wood Lumber finally showed up together and fielded five runners. Dana Miskell edged Big Tim Jones for top Green Team honors. Dough Tholke scored another personal best. Kevin Kroeger and Patrick Burke notched personal bests as well, using the strong southwest tailwind to propel them home with times of 39 minutes and change. The Coffee O Five is a weekly five-mile run and 2.4 mile walk that is held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth.
