Deer Island Weekly

Cross-country this week took the stage as the mere three of us in the 23 mph 18 degree F. weather on the ice-bound Deer Island in Boston Harbor ran a test on the proposed course over the frozen ground.  Art Gray, designer of the course won in 30:12 with Tom Derderian following in 30:15. Cynthia Hastings ran 31:30. The course is very hilly with spectacular views of the harbor and should be pleasant in the gentler seasons.

We will be there next week at 10 am for all or any comers at the parking lot. No entry fee. No amenities. Free antarctic simulation experience. Back to the flat, 2.65 mile perimeter road next week unless a vote changes it.
