The Road to Athone is a well traveled one these day's as Athlone, Co.
Westmeath, Republic of Ireland is soon to be the next new city in Ireland....an
interesting - bustling city on the banks of the River Shannon. The
Historic Hotel Hoey is no more as it's doors were closed for good on December
2, 2004--the very night that the Road to Athlone 5Km took place in Somerville,
Massachusetts.
The D.A.V. 3.2121467 Miler--Race Director who was in
temporary exile spent 3 nights at this grand ole dame of a hotel in
downtown Athlone last week...God Bless the Hotel Hoey and all those cold pints
of Guinness at Sean's Bar in Athlone, Co. Westmeath:>)
