2003 Loyalty Day 5K

The race was held on a perfect, sunny, 70 degree day. It started two minutes before the beginning of the Manchester (VT) Loyalty Day Parade. The first half of the 5K was a downhill route which was lined with fans who had come to watch the parade. The crowd really got into cheering on the participants. Runners really enjoyed participating in front of a crowd, especially since it was early on and all downhill. By the time they got to the inevitable big hill, they had already passed the parade terminus and the crowds, much to the relief of those who were struggling.
