Mt. Holyoke Summit Run

111 Runners Make It to the Top
Under near perfect conditions, 111 runners completed the 21st annual Summit Run to the top Mt. Holyoke. Tom Duggan, 23 of West Springfield led the way with a time of 20:43 to take first place for the men, while Bradley Mish 16, of Hadley finished 11 seconds behind to take second place in 20:54. John Berryhill of Belchertown and Elvin Torres of Holyoke took 3rd and 4th place in 23:20 and 23:49 respectively. Madeline Nagy, 34 of Hatfield took first place in the Women’s Division finishing in 24:19. Laura Norton-Cruz, 21 of South Hadley was the second women to finish. Pedro Rios, of Florence took the over 70 age group in 32:20 and Natalie Asselin of Chicopee took first in the under 15 age group in 29:56.
The 3.1 mile race climbs 800 feet over its course and ends behind the Summit House where finishers, their family and friends enjoyed a post race breakfast and the panoramic views of the Pioneer Valley. The race benefits the Friends of the Mt. Holyoke Range in its efforts to preserve the range and its natural environment.
