Coffee-O-Five

Falmouth, MA, November 28, 2003

Meager Field at Post Turkey Day Coffee O

by by FTC

Thanksgiving was a busy day for running on the Upper Cape. The Thanksgiving Day Chase the Turkey Run at Falmouth Academy had a record field of over 160 runners, and the We Gather Together 5K in Sandwich had a record field of over 1400 runners. That left just 10 weary runners and four walkers who were motivated enough to run off their Thanksgiving feasts at the next dayıs Coffee O Five. Duncan Smith-Rohrberg ran uncontested to a three-minute victory with one of his best five-mile times in a while. He finished in just under 31 minutes. Brandon Dugan edged Peter Murphy for second. Juliette White of Wellesley was fourth over-all and the first woman to cross the line. Brian McDevitt dipped under 39 minutes for his first time en route to a seventh place finish. Sixth place finisher, Bob Richards, was just off of his personal best five-mile time. Joanne Corsano and Carolyn Bird rounded out the womenıs field. The Coffee O Five is a weekly five-mile run and 2.4 mile walk that is held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. There is no entry fee for this self-timed event and all runners and walkers are welcome to participate. Reflective running gear is required through the winter.
