Warm May Weather Brings Out Large Coffee O Field

It was 65 degrees and humid at game time this Friday night for the Coffee O Five and it was another season high turnout, as 45 runners toured the course. Eighteen walkers also jumped in for the 2.4-mile walk. Steve Faluotico started out slow and picked up the pace with each successive mile en-route to a first place tie with a time of 30:31. Jeff List bounded home in third place, just 20 seconds ahead of Mark Abbott. Mike Ouimet edged Chris Legault for the fifth spot. Jeff Hamilton led a big logjam of five runners finishing within 10 seconds of one another between 34:50 and 35 minutes. Jack Carroll chalked up a personal best Coffee-O-Five time as he dipped under 35 minutes. It was by no means the best ever five mile time for the former Cape Cod Marathon winner, as Mr. Carroll has run much faster than 35 minutes in a time many moons ago. Kathleen Savage¹s time of 38:36 was good enough to take first in the women¹s race. Ann Tarrant followed a minute later with a personal best time of her own. Stace Beaulieu who helped pace Ms. Tarrant took third. Sharon Napier and Wendy Kingerlee rounded out the top five. The Coffee O Five is a weekly five mile run and 2.4 mile walk which is held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. There is no entry fee for this self-timed event and all runners and walkers are invited to participate. Refreshing cold water is supplied by Coffee Obsession to all participants.
