Coffee-O-Five
Falmouth, MA, June 20, 2003
Largest Field of the Year for Pre Summer Solstice Run
by by Ken Gartner
It was sunny and warm for a change at this weekıs Coffee O Five and 54
runners and half a dozen walkers took part in the event. It was the largest
turnout of the year. The Elm Road water stop was operating in full force
this week, which is a sure sign that it is summer.
Bill Solimine ran a perfectly paced race and his winning time of 27:58
was the second fastest time run on the course this year. Dave Stuebe of
Woods Hole finished in two ticks over 32 minutes which was a personal best
time for him and good enough for a third place finish. Justin Neviakas
edged Mark Hurrie of fourth.
Lynn Holmgren notched another win with a strong effort of just over 33
mintues. Jess Baker recovered from a fine effort at the Vermont City
Marathon earlier this spring to finish second. Ms. Baker finished in 34:08
with her young dog in tow, no actually the young dog finished in 34:08 with
Ms. Baker in tow. Lindsay Ruthven took third in 35:27 and Tobe Marsden edged
Kristina Harvey for fourth.
The Coffee O Five is a weekly five-mile race and 2.4 mile walk that is
held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. There
is no entry fee for this self timed event and all runners and walkers are
invited to participate
