Coffee-O-Five
Falmouth, MA, July 11, 2003
Warm Summer Night for Coffee O Fivers
by by Ken Gartner
Fifty-three runners enjoyed another warm summer night for a run at the
Cofffee-O-Five. Steve Faluotico edged Stephen Roe by just 12 seconds to
take third place. Mr. Roeıs time of 30:32 was a personal best by 30
seconds. Mike Norton edged David Stuebe by just seven seconds to take fifth
with a time of 31:42. Kevin Grey who chalked up wins in last weekıs Dedham
Road Race and the Paul White Road Race in North Falmouth, recovered from
last weekıs ordeal and loped home in a tie for first place this week.
Jess Baker cracked 34 minutes by a couple of seconds and she edged
Nanci Cahalane of Norfolk for first in the womenıs race. Erica
Lasek-Nessequist took third in just under 36 minutes and Wendy Stafford
finished fourth for the women. Stace Beaulieu rounded out the top five.
Steve of Pocassett had the longest run of the night as the first time
Coffee-O-Five runner veered off course somewhere along the route and trotted
back to Town Hall Square an hour and a half later. The second annual
Coffee-O-Five summer cookout and pool party will be held after next weekıs
run. The event will be held at some poor unsuspecting runnerıs house.
The Coffee O Five is a weekly five mile run and 2.4 mile walk which is
held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. There is
no charge for this self-timed event and all runners are invited to
participate.
