This year’s first 8K race, the Panera Bread 8K, was a great
race experience! Race morning
temperature was mid-upper 50’s and by race end it was a wonderful 65 degrees -
perfect running temps. Thanks go out to
all of the student volunteers from Cathedral and Carmel
High Schools as well as to their
coaches for greatly adding to our volunteer numbers and making sure that the
course and water stations ran smoothly.
We are very grateful to the other members of Indiana All Star Running
Club who volunteered for their dedication to the club and its goals. Butler
University and the Track &
Field office provided a great deal of pre-event assistance without which this
event would not have been the success that it was. Lennon Wicks, especially, was of invaluable
help!
Having Jim Koole, the Panera Bread
Director of Operations, handing out prizes and shaking hands with winners was
awesome, and thanks go to him for attending our event. Timing and results were accomplished by 3
disciplines racing, and went seamlessly!
Everyone enjoyed the beautiful course on Butler’s
campus, the time splits along the way, the great finish line, and of course,
the Panera Bread bagels and Aquafina/All Sport products at the Awards
Ceremony. Come on out to Butler
to run the same great course on the Fourth of July for the All Star Club 8K,
and see why so many runners love our events!
