> Printer-friendly page Thanks to Talking Rain

The glass was half full on November 23, 2002 as it was a day that was forecasted as being partly cloudy, but  turned out to actually be partly sunny.  Although this race is flat by comparison to other courses in the Are You Nuts? Trail Race series it was very slippery.

Thanks to Talking Rain,  Clif Bar, and Red Bull for their sponsorship support.  Also to Dr. Thompson who gave our participants free post-race massages using the Active Release method.   Thanks to Georgia, her mom, and  JB for their work and also to the guy who volunteered at the last minute to  help JB at the finish line whoever you are - thanks.

Many participants stayed until the end for the awards ceremony.  The top three in each category received prizes.  The first place prize for the Women's and Men's Open category consisted of a two person entry into the 2003 Winter Wuhoo! Adventure Race (valued at $150) and various prizes from our sponsors.  These were awarded to Alison Jackson and Isaac Bertschi.  Second place for the open category went to Michelle Halsne and Brad Mott.  Third place for the open category went to Heidi Kirkham and Patrick Dill.

New to the series is the addition of a Women's and Men's Masters category.  The first place prize for this category consisted of a two person entry into the 2003 Wuhoo! Urban Adventure Race and various prizes from our sponsors.  These were awarded to Holly Bundschu and Dave Wilkes.  Alas, once the official results were tallied it was discovered that a mistake had been made and the official first place winner of this category is Zack Wills.  As if that weren't enough for this new category a second  and third place for the women's side could not be awarded as there were no other entries that qualified.  Second and third place for the Men's Masters were awarded to Greg Hahn and Jim Whitney, respectively.

Congratulations to those many participants that won draw prizes.
