Summary: 86 runners enjoyed this picture perfect day with ideal conditions for running and post race activites - chatting, hot dogs and stream cooled "beverages." Art Fowler won the men's race by 20 seconds over Jeff Howley in a time of 16:59. Fourteen year old Jennie Bender won the women's race by 41 seconds over Jackie Simonsen in a time of 20:06. The women put on a great show in this race, taking 6 of the top 11 spots! Where were the 40-49 year old male runners? Normally the largest and fastest age group of area races, only one 40-49 year old (Bob Mulrow) finished in the top 10, and only 9 completed the race. The 30-39 male runners took their place with 3 of the top 5 finishers and 18 runners overall.
