DCRRC One-Hour Track Run

The 2002 edition of the DCRRC One Hour Track Run was held under ideal running conditions. The race drew many veterans from prior One Hour contests. Pat Griffith set the pace early and maintained the lead for about 40 minutes, when Ted Poulos surged to capture the lead. However, none of the lead pack was able to attain the prestigious 10-mile mark. Unlike the typical road race where all runners cover the same distance in a varying amount of time, this race involved all runners racing for exactly one hour, with the winner covering the most distance.
