RTW Course Record Tumbles Again

Despite having to contend with unusual weather conditions and having to run alone from start to finish, Shelby Snodgrass journeyed to The Woodlands from San Antonio and set a new course record. His 16:11 bettered Andy Rihn's existing record (set in race #48) by eight seconds.

At 7:55AM, five minutes before the scheduled start of the race, a light rain was falling, the temperature was near 70 degrees and the humidity was high. By the time the runners assembled at the starting line, the rain stopped and streaks of sunshine begin to pierce the cloud cover. Shortly into the race, a front roared through the area. The temperature dropped into the mid-50's, the skies cleared and the humidity dissipated. Unfortunately for those concerned with their times, strong headwinds buffeted the runners for most of the second half of the race.

The next race in the series is scheduled for Saturday, March 23rd. The entry fee remains $1.00 (yes, one dollar).
