ANNUAL PICNIC RUN
August 4, 2002
Race Director: Tom Mal
Temperature: 90 Degrees, Heat
Index 95 Degrees
Weather Conditions: Partly Cloudy and
Hazy Skies
Twenty-eight brave souls
showed up on a hot humid day for a run over a tough hilly course. It was so hazy,
the air could be seen. The main decisions for the day were the type of stroke to use
for the slog. Most of the participants chose either the breaststroke or the
backstroke. The times were slower than usual because of the weather, but the runners
had a challenge and an opportunity to socialize during the run if they chose. Some
of the up and coming younger runners showed their potential and finished well. Mile
Becker, Eddie Russman, and Luke Russman showed us the high quality of the young runners of
tomorrow.
