Ash Hollow Classic 5K

James Hansen, a senior at Sidney High, won the 5-K Ash Hollow Race with an impressive time of 16:43. This is the second best time ever for the run following last year's win by Brady Bonsall of Ogallala who had been training for the Olympics. Second place for men was Blake Howsden of Oshkosh with a time of 18:05. Howsden has been improving his time each year with a time of 19:02 in 1996.
Winning in the women's division was Sherri Bonsall of Ogallala with a time of 22:03. Second place was Anita Mendoza of Gering with a time of 22:30.
Andrea Lake of Oshkosh and Martha Sabala of Gering were the first ones in on the 5-K walk with a time of 41 minutes. Tyler Tophoj of Oshkosh won the Kid's One-Mile Fun Run. Placing second was Josie Kerk of Rapid City and third was Taya Howsden of Oshkosh.
