Something about being back at home after a long vacation...you almost harken back to the comfortable days in your mothers womb...the saying "Home Sweet Home" is everything it means.. and the Somerville Striders Athletic Club has landed back in Somerville and it promises to bring the fun back to running in Somerville as well as some good ole fashion competition that can't be beat and won't be beat:>)

A small crowd of faithful participated tonight...the hangover & chill from the rain from last weeks Harpoon Brewery Charles River Ramble "Reggae Run" evidently still in effect with many...and with Rolling Stones tickets in hand..even Papa Clyde was almost a no-show however in the end after a weary week a night of camraderie with the friends was the remedy..

The only local man with more wins than the famed Red Sox pitcher Cy Young won tonight...his blood runs Charlestown, but his sweat has soaked the mean streets of Somerville for years....and a mere youngster at 65 years old who would think Frankie Keane would still be winning races...but he is folks...and that's no lie..

And last but not least..cause there is always one more story to tell in the Naked City...Melissa Garside of Dorchester, MA and a new runner who also is visually impaired joined us last night running alongside Sherry Gordon, one of our very best SSAC ladies as her guide...the SSAC has loads of quality women who enjoy being guides and this will be showcased on October 5th at the "Team with a Vision 5Km" in Brighton, MA.
