Charter Day Cross-Country Races Break Records!

Kids' Start - 1 Mile Cross Country
Records fell in 3 of 4 cases at the Granby Charter Day Cross-Country races.
In the 5K XC, on the men's side, Ian Lanza's 17:51 shattered Aaron Flamino's previous record of 18:10.
Likewise in the 5K XC, on the women's side, Sidney Letendre's 21:21 erased Liz McGrath's 23:28.
The Race Director, Bill Dean, was happy to announce that runners this year declared the 5K course the "best marked XC course they had ever seen!" and that the last remaining 2001 runner was found this year by the 2002 runners, walking out of a side trail, looking a lot like Tom Hanks.
In the 1-mile XC for kids 12 and under, the repeat boys' winner from last year, Tim Houle, posted a blazing 6:31, just 1 second off his own record on this course.
Likewise in the 1-mile XC for kids 12 and under, the repeat girls' winner from last year, Emily Dean, posted a wicked fast 6:35, breaking her own record on this course by 5 seconds!
The runners all enjoyed free pancakes after the races, and the category winners got cash awards at the ending ceremony.
Keep training, and we'll see you all next year. Bring your running friends. Thanks for your great support - Coach Bill
