Alex Tanui aka Alex Filides of the famed Greater Boston Track Club and a long time runner of Papa Clyde races didn't just break the "Great One" Jim Garcia's men's record last night he crushed it on a wet, balmy London night more fitting for Mr. Hyde's dastardly deeds than making the Somerville road running history books..and to show how "Big a Man"..he really is!! Alex has put his purse prize on the line next week when the notoriously fast Frank Nelson of Bridgewater. MA visits his favorite Somerville running venue!!

"Winner takes all next week"..Alex Filides bellowed out as he crossed the "Finish Line" tonight!!

Loads of Ladies tonight and we like that...Christine Harney may have had a battle tonight with the famed Somerville runner-Marie Kemp if not for the delayed Australian jet lag that overcame her around the first 1/4 mile..and then Marie settled in for a gentle run around the City of Somerville with Kevin Christian...who once ran a 4:11 1500 meters...
