Are You Nuts? Trail Running Series - 15K Snowshoe

On Saturday, December 22, 2001 the very first Are You Nuts? Snowshoe Race at Hyak State Park was held. It was a nutty day: a particpant from Mexico showed up (lots of snowshoeing there!) and someone even made their own snowshoes. The weather was clear and cold. It was a great day for racing.

Thanks to Talking Rain for re-hydrating the participants at the finish. Also, thanks to Clif Bar, Isis Sportswear for Women, Snoqualmie Ski Patrol, and the hot chocolate servers.

The top three in each category received prizes. The first place prizes that consisted of a free two person entry into the Winter Wuhoo! Adventure Race (value of $140) and a prize gift package was awarded to William Emerson and Laura Gould. The second place prizes that consisted of a free entry into another Are You Nuts? Trail Race and a prize gift package was awarded to Willie Richardson and Sabina Havkins. The third place prizes of a prize gift package was awarded to Frank Mungeam Lindsey Ferris.
